Church BBQ and Reaching Neighbors
Our team and church spent an evening going around to the neighboring streets and houses surrounding our church property, inviting people to a BBQ fellowship. There were over 60 people in attendance, and at least 15 of those were neighbors. It was a fun time of food, field games, volleyball, and fellowship. Several folks who visited that night have come back on Sunday mornings.
First Church Ladies’ Meeting
On Sunday, August 9, we had our first church ladies’ meeting. Miss Shari House was behind the organizing and planning of it all, and she did a tremendous job making it a first-class meeting. We had 98 ladies in attendance, with several first-time visitors. Our church staff member, Khun Joom, was the featured speaker. She spoke on the importance of being a godly lady in the church. The team and staff ladies worked together to make this day a wonderful time for all.
Everyone Can Serve
One Sunday evening Pastor Tim preached a sermon encouraging every church member to find a place to serve in the church, and that if they weren’t serving, they would stop growing in the Lord. After that service, one of our faithful members, Khun Yai Meaow, was frustrated because her health issues make serving more difficult. The next Sunday Pastor Tim arranged to have a chair set out by the coffee station. Khun Yai was asked if she would be willing to sit and serve coffee each Sunday morning between services. She was thrilled to have this place of service, and what a joy it was to see her so happy!
Fellowship With Our Karen Members
Our team and staff were invited to share in a special Thanksgiving time with some of our Karen church members in their home. It was a time of testimonies, songs, and rejoicing in the Lord. We are blessed to serve with such sweet people.
As each month goes by, we continue to make building improvements to accommodate our expanding ministry. In the back of our church property, we have put up two tents for the Junior Church. Our team and staff men have worked hard to clear the land to make room for the tents, extra parking, a volleyball court, a small soccer field, and a future play area. Bro. Randy and Mrs. Carmen Shook have worked countless hours, voluntarily, to improve the church grounds, and we are so fortunate to have their example of servitude on our team.
God is blessing the work here, as we are seeing souls saved, baptized, and folks growing in the Lord. Please keep us in your prayers as we seek the Lord’s will in buying land. Thank you for your faithful support!
