We are very grateful for your prayers and financial support. Thank you so much for investing in the lives of the Cambodian people. I am sorry for getting this letter out late. From the last week of July to the end of August, we were in Texas, California, and Washington. We were able to go soul winning with the Cambodian people at our home church in Long Beach, California. It was a blessing to see the same people going out and telling about God’s love to their own people (Cambodians). My children had the opportunity to go out with the ladies of some of our supporting churches, and they got to be a part of seeing people saved.
Our church in Cambodia is doing great. The rainy season has begun. There has been some flooding in our community, but the people still come to the services. Recently they had one man saved, and this same man has been coming to the church.
I want tell you about my wife’s situation. A few years ago, my wife started having different dental/mouth pains. She could not eat or sleep well. I took her to see different doctors in Cambodia and also in Thailand, but there seemed to be no big concern. The doctors in Cambodia could not explain her pain.
Well, when we came home for this furlough, we visited several dentists. They said that my wife has TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder). One doctor did a CAT scan and found out her jaw disorder. He has my wife wearing an orthosis, which is like a mouth guard, and it has been helping her a great deal. Yesterday she had her last appointment with him before we go back to the Cambodia. He told my wife that her TMJ can be healed, but she needs one year of treatment in the States so that he can put braces on her to widen her jaw and align her teeth.
We now think she has the TMJ disorder because 11 years ago she had a bad experience when a doctor in Cambodia took out her wisdom teeth due to a severe fall. Please pray for us concerning this situation. If there is no other doctor in Cambodia or Thailand that can treat this, we will come back to the U.S. and have a Cambodian Christian doctor, Dr. Heng Lim, in Oklahoma treat her. God bless you.
