June and July have been filled with wonderful opportunities to serve! In June we were busy with Vacation Bible School, and as I write this prayer letter, we’ve just wrapped up a great week of ministering through our local church at the countywide fair, where a tent was set up for the purpose of old-fashioned, personal, one-on-one soul winning! Praise the Lord! Exactly 300 precious new names are written down in Glory through this amazing week of ministry!
More Souls in Heaven
Since our last prayer letter, the Lord has allowed our family to lead 52 eternal souls to Christ through our personal soul-winning efforts. We count it such an honor to represent you with each of these souls saved. These are souls that will be to your account in eternity. I wish space would allow to be able to tell you the individual story of each of these, but I hope you’ll be blessed to hear the sweet, sweet story of just a few.
I met a young man by the name of James. James was 16 years old and was with three of his friends when I stopped them to ask them about eternity. A few of his friends scoffed at my question: “If you were to die today, are you 100% sure you would go the Heaven?” However, James seemed very interested from the start. I continued talking with him as his friends continued on their way. He didn’t seem to care one bit about what his friends thought; he wanted to know what I had to say. I slowly took him down the Romans Road. He asked questions along the way, which I encouraged and answered. After about 20 minutes of explaining the Gospel to him, I asked him if he would like to receive this free gift of eternal life that God was offering to him. He replied, “I would be foolish to refuse this gift.” A few moments later, we prayed together, and James was saved! Praise the Lord!
Another opportunity the Lord gave me allowed me to share the Gospel with a very sincere, yet misguided young man. He was the type who went to church, prayed every night, prayed before mealtime, treated others good, and lived a clean, wholesome life. I told him all those things were good to do but that we could not trust in those things to get us to Heaven. After sharing the Gospel with him, you could see the light of the Gospel come on—he got it! Jesus paid it all! Salvation is a GIFT! He readily accepted Christ as his Saviour! Praise the Lord! Afterwards he said to me, “I thought I could live good enough to please God, but I never would have been good enough.” He also said, “I have to share this with my family tonight!” It is exciting to know that our Lord has CHOSEN US to share such exciting news with this lost world! Glory to God!
Thank you so much for the privilege to represent you and your church as your missionaries to the people of Ireland as we endeavor to partner to reach the lost of this world. We love and appreciate you!
