“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves . . . unholy, Without natural affection . . . .” (II Timothy 3:1-3) The verses mentioned above have not seemed so real in my life than they have in the past two years. I am writing this latest prayer letter while visiting a fellow missionary in the city of Limerick, Ireland. Ireland has been traditionally a Roman Catholic country for countless years; however, in 2013 Ireland shockingly voted to legalize abortion. More recently, as many of you may have read or seen in the news, Ireland has passed a referendum to make same-gender marriage legal as well. As Christians, sometimes we look around, and we can feel like the Devil has the upper hand. No matter what happens, we know that we are on the winning side! Although these two steps have been heartbreaking, we know that God is still on the throne! Please pray for us and the other missionaries in Ireland as we endeavor to reach these needy souls with the only truth that will set them free!
Soul Winning in Cork
Although the liberal agenda in Ireland has had their victory, the people of Cork have still remained somewhat open to the Gospel message. Soul winning in Europe is no different than in North America, Asia, or anywhere else, for that matter. In some areas people may be more open than others, but if we continue to be faithful to get the Gospel to needy people, God has promised that His Word will not return void. Recently while I was out soul winning, I met a man by the name of Pádraig (quite a popular Irish name).
He was doing some cleaning around the house, so I thought at first he would not give me much time at the door. However, that wasn’t the case. After he learned I was a Christian, he asked what I thought of the recent law that passed in Ireland. I was honest with him and told him that I did not agree with it and told him that I didn’t think God was pleased either. This brought us to the subject of sin and how it does not please a holy God. I was able to share the plan of salvation with him, but he wouldn’t pray.
So often, that is the case here in Ireland. The Irish are slow to make decisions. I left him with a Gospel tract to read later and will plan to follow up with him on my next visit. Please pray that God would use this recent law to show Pádraig, as well as many others, that there is a payment for our sin and that Jesus Christ paid it all!
“Light of the World” DVD Project
The Lord continues to bless and use this ministry greatly. It is an honor to give these out and to get them into the homes of the Irish people. We would like to thank the Bible Baptist Church in Charlevoix, Michigan, as well as the Open Bible Baptist Church in Warsaw, Indiana, for their latest donations towards the Ireland DVD Project. God continues to bless and provide for this project. If you’d like to have a part, please send in your donation marked “Ireland DVD Project.”
We are still in need of much prayer regarding our immigration visa. We continue to travel in and out of the country on a tourist visa while we continue to seek permission to remain in Ireland long-term. We were recently very encouraged to learn that Ireland will be amending their immigration laws later this year. We greatly covet your prayers that the changes would go in our favor.
Other Prayer Requests
1. Please pray that the hearts of the people who receive the Word of God will be open.
2. Please pray for the recent paperwork submitted to the Irish government for immigration approvals.
3. Please continue to pray for our family concerning health, wisdom, and strength.
Thank you so much, dear friends and supporters. It is such an honor to be your missionary. We love and appreciate you and keep you in our prayers.
Saved to serve,
Bro. Elias (Robyn, Joshua, Kendalle, Suzanne) Correa
