Our trip from January 15, 2015, to February 19, 2015, was such a tremendous success. Not only was it exciting to see family and so many old friends and co-laborers, but it was wonderful to see how the Lord worked and blessed our many meetings.
The highlight of our trip was the annual Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference in Bacolod City at Gospel Baptist Church. We were able to introduce the Teaching All Nations program, along with discipleship lessons, to scores of pastors in Bacolod City and General Santos. We also had the privilege to preach for a number of pastors on the islands of Negros, Panay, Luzon, and Mindanao.
While in Bacolod City and during the meetings with the pastors, God showed us that there is still much to be done in the training of our Filipino brethren. This was the purpose of starting Asian Baptist World Ministries back in 2005. That vision is as strong today as it was back then.
Since our health has improved, and after checking with immigration officials, we feel that the Lord would have us to return to General Santos City, Mindanao, to continue our work through A.W.B.M. It will be easier and cheaper to visit the Asian countries, and we can work more closely with the national pastors from and in the Philippines. We will therefore be returning at the end of April and have already rented a house there. We are also in the process of selling our home and our furnishings here in Michigan.
Please pray especially for Kay and Brianna. They are very happy to be returning, but this is another big adjustment for them. Pray particularly that Brianna might be able to take her dog Eloise with her. We are also still in need of the funds to build the Bible college in Burma. Pray that God will allow us to finish this project by the end of June.
Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support.
Charlie, Kay, and Brianna Vest
