Here in Esmeraldas we are experiencing quite a rainy season, but overall we are doing fine. Vicky and the kids are doing great, as well as Alyssa. She was born on November 24, 2014.
This year has brought us many opportunities in both of the churches. We have seen more people trust Christ as their personal Saviour. We are, at this moment, discipling more families; and the attendance at the church in Esmeraldas has grown in number. At the church of Tonsupa, things are running well. We have not worked as we wish we could, but in God’s mercy, the work has been stable.
The good news is that the Uribe family is now with us. They arrived in Ecuador on February 16, 2015, and they have been such a blessing to both of the works. The church was able to supply all their needs. Our desire is to work with them until they can take over the church.
All these months have been very productive. We have seen people trust Christ through our preaching, and we have also seen people surrendered their lives to full-time Christian service. I was able to preach at a missions conference and start a new church in the city of Viche. The church in Viche now has their own pastor. In addition, we as church will be financially supporting 10 missionary families this year. I’m glad our congregation has understood the importance of the Great Commission. In general, the Lord has been very good to us. Please help us pray for the spiritual growth of the new Christians.
One of the many testimonies we can share is that of Brother Jose Caicedo. He is 28 years old and just recently got saved a month ago. His wife and kids came to church, but he did not want anything to do with church. I personally invited him many times until the time I was able to witness to him. For a whole month, I have been discipling him, but he would not come to church until I showed him from the Bible that he needed to be in church. That same night he got on his knees and asked God to help him become faithful to church. He had long hair, but that same night I got him a haircut. The next morning he looked very sharp with his whole family in church. We rejoice that we can say God has literally changed a life.
Please help us pray for the spiritual growth of new Christians. We love you!!
