I’m thankful for some time to be back home in Wisconsin for nearly three weeks at the end of July and the beginning of August. It gives me the opportunity to work on scheduling meetings in 2020, focus on the needs of our family, and take a “staycation”! Please pray that our family will be refreshed during this brief time off and ready to get back on the road.
Eight Meetings
I’m thankful for the opportunity we had to present our ministry in eight churches in July. Our first church was in South Dakota, as we came back from our time in the Northwest. The rest were in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. On July 7, we had the privilege to be at a church in East Bethel, Minnesota. There we witnessed something we don’t see very often—a baptism in a lake! Praise the Lord for believers following the Lord in baptism!
Unplanned Visit
I went to a house to make a follow-up visit on someone I had met a few days before. He wasn’t home, but I had the chance to meet the family next door. The man, Geraldo, gave me the opportunity to present the Gospel to him for about 30 minutes. At least three times, his family said he was missing dinner, but he wanted to continue listening to the Gospel. He then bowed his head to trust in Jesus to be His personal Saviour! Afterwards, through tears, he said. “I’ve heard something like that before, but this is the first time it felt real!” He said he is excited about growing as a Christian! It is amazing how God leads us to people we don’t plan to talk to who are ready to be saved!
Missions University
In July, FBMI hosted Missions University during Youth Conference. It was three days of teaching and discussion with the goal of helping us become better missionaries. Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” We enjoyed the fellowship with other missionaries who are on deputation, the wisdom from the veteran missionaries present, and the teaching from the FBMI staff and others! Also, I’m thankful for how God worked in hearts during Youth Conference. The following Sunday, I was at a church in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and around 15 teenagers gave testimonies of decisions they had made during Youth Conference!
