Imagine a marathon runner stepping up to the starting line. He is anticipating the firing of the gun and the flood of adrenaline that will release into his veins to give him his desired jump start into the race. Our start into deputation gave the similar feeling as that of a marathon runner. We anticipated our first meeting and missions conference. Our adrenaline was pumping, and the excitement was flowing about the race we had entered.
Just as the marathon runner hopes for a good jump start, we, too, had hoped and prayed for that jump start into the ministry of deputation, and God granted us that jump start. He has given us various meetings, and in each new place visited, there has been a wonderful experience. The spirit-filled preaching, the sweet spirit of God’s people, and the soul winning have been a vital part of keeping that adrenaline pumping for the deputation marathon. It is so exciting when visiting a new place and going soul winning to have the opportunity to meet someone and share the Gospel. One time we were out soul winning while attending a missions conference, and we met an elderly lady who had been asking God to help her answer the question of where she would spend eternity. When we knocked on that lady’s door, she invited us in and allowed us to show her from the Bible how she could know for sure that Heaven would be her home.
Every time we visit a new place and God leads us to that one who is ready to believe and receive the Lord as Saviour, it is such an exhilarating feeling! We just love meeting God’s people, we love going soul winning, and we love helping connect souls won to the Lord to the churches we are visiting.
We are so blessed to start this race in our lives, and we desire your prayers as we continue in this deputation marathon. Please continue to pray that God would grant us more meetings and the support needed to get to the field. We praise God for the faithful refugees that have been coming to church even though we have begun deputation. Please continue to pray for the Refugee Ministry; pray for God to send more laborers into the ministry. Please pray that God will continue to use us to reach souls and to be an encouragement to God’s people everywhere we go. Please continue to pray that the Muslim families we have shared the Gospel with will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour.
We thank you for your continued prayers for us. Please continue to partner with us in prayer for some specific needs we have for deputation. We look forward to sharing more victories with you on our journey in our deputation marathon. God bless you.
Your servants for Christ,
Dennis and Holly Lagos
