“But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?” (I John 3:17)
Praise the Lord for the beginning of another year as we work to fulfill the Great Commission and anticipate the coming of the Lord. In 3½ months in 2014, we were in 32 churches, traveled just over 24,000 miles, saw a number of souls saved, and even saw some surrender to go. A number of churches have partnered with us, and 3 more informed us they will begin supporting us in January. Praise the Lord! We are excited about this year and desire to glorify Jesus Christ through witnessing, preaching, teaching, and helping those we encounter.
While at a meeting recently, we were trying to take care of needed duties (laundry, groceries, etc.) with the plan of getting to bed early, as it had been a long day already and nothing was going as planned—just the opposite actually. To make a long story short, we helped a man named Jose who had ruined a tire on his car and urgently needed to make his destination within a few hours. I was able to change his tire and also witness to him. He shared that he was saved but far from the Lord. Jose was amazed that we would take the time to help him. I shared some more verses with him and gave him the name and address of a good church in the area, as he desired to know where he could get plugged in. While heading back to where we were staying, I couldn’t help but praise God for His timing and plan. If things had gone my way, we wouldn’t have met Jose, been able to help him, or direct him to a good church in his area.
It was 1:20 a.m. when we got back to the hotel, and we were all exhausted. I saw a man who worked there and decided to go witness to him. After about 30 minutes of talking to him and sharing the Gospel with him, he called upon Jesus Christ to save his soul. Wow! God’s timing is PERFECT! He had it all lined up, and it wasn’t as I had planned at all!
God is so good. Thank you so much to those of you who pray for us, communicate, give, and encourage—we need you. Please pray for Jose to get in church and grow. Pray for the souls in Thailand and also for laborers.
