We celebrated several special occasions during the month of August, as well as shed a tear or two. Our dear friends and co-laborers, the Inman family, headed back to the States on furlough. We miss them tremendously and are praying for their safe return.
In Thailand, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the queen’s birthday, August 12. We celebrated this special occasion as a church on the 10th and had 27 mothers present. It was a special time of honoring each one with a gift, and at the end of the service, the children presented their moms with a flower. Many of the mothers took a few moments to pray over their children, which made for a precious close to the service.
Mikey had his second birthday on the 18th. It’s crazy how fast the last two years have flown by! We had some of his little friends over to the house for a party, as well as several of the church teens he really loves. We are so incredibly blessed to call this little guy ours.
On the 24th, we celebrated Independent Baptist Church of Hua Hin’s 13th anniversary! We had 115 in attendance, with several visitors and a few people back who had not come in years. After the service, 3 new believers followed the Lord in baptism. It was an exciting time of remembering God’s blessing and provision. It was special to me personally since I had the privilege of being a part of the church’s first service as a teenager all those years ago.
While out soul winning one Thursday evening, Bro. Sangad and I met a group of 6 teens who were studying for a school project in the park. They were very respectful and listened intently as I shared the Gospel with them. When I told them that Heaven was a gift and all they needed to do was accept it, they eagerly bowed their heads and trusted Christ.
One afternoon while visiting one of our faithful church ladies, her grandson walked into the house. His name is Bai, and he is in his early twenties. He sat down, and I began asking him questions about his life. He said he had been caught up with the wrong crowd and was in some trouble, but he wanted to get things right. I introduced him to the One Who can straighten out even the worst of sinners, and a few minutes later, Bai accepted Jesus. The following Sunday, he came to church and got baptized!
Mikey’s Moment
Mikey has recently become quite the little tea connoisseur. The other night after church, we snapped this shot of him having a nice cup of tea with some of the church ladies—such an “old soul”!
As always, we are so grateful for you love, prayers, and support. May God bless you!
