“In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:3)
On a cold afternoon in middle Pennsylvania, I was asked to preach for a nursing home church service with about 15 regular attendees in the service. At the end of the preaching, the invitation was given to ask Jesus to save them, forgive their sins, and take them to Heaven when they died. One person raised their hand in the back of the room, asking for prayer. Her name was Ruth, and she was a worker recently hired to take care of the nursing home residents. I spoke with her after the service. With a big smile, she said that this was the first time in her life she had understood the Gospel, and she was so happy to be saved. We just never know what will happen when we follow the Great Commission. Praise the Lord that Ruth has a home in Heaven, regardless of what happens here.
We thank you multiple times for your prayers for our family and the travels made. Our van is holding up well, and through God’s grace, we have not missed a service or appointment in our first 10 months of deputation. Through the end of November, support has risen to 42%. This past month we have had excellent meetings in West Virginia, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana. An extra blessing, Pastor Travis Combest of First Baptist Church, Berne, Indiana, allowed me to preach his midweek Bible study near my hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana. His daughter Elizabeth is preparing to serve in Thailand and will be arriving there in January of 2017. Please pray for her safety and success as she works directly with the Long family, missionaries to Southeast Asia, near Bangkok (three hours north of us).
Very recently our team and members of the International Baptist Church of Hua Hin began a campaign of presenting a special program, including the plan of salvation, to over 2,500 students. This effort is extremely well organized, directed, and delivered in a fashion to make a long-lasting, positive impact on the students and staff of these important schools. Please pray for our team and the many students and staff at the schools; pray that their newfound learning and knowledge of Jesus will make a difference in their lives for eternity, giving them hope each day towards their future of Heaven. Thank you to each church here in the USA that prays for and supports these efforts, helping to make it all possible. What an amazing investment you have made!
Grateful to serve,
