Furlough
We pray that you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. It was a blessing to spend Christmas with family in the USA. We have traveled many thousands of miles these past few months. We thank the Lord for the very prosperous furlough that He has given us. We had the opportunity to report in 26 churches in the past 4 months. We were also able to visit 3 radio stations while here to continue gaining insight for our station in Morogoro. We praise the Lord for the smooth trip back. Pray that we would have a smooth transition back into the ministry in Tanzania.
Open Doors Stateside
As we have traveled, we are always excited to find people from East Africa who speak Swahili. We have met them in malls, stores, parks, and many other places. They are always thrilled to find someone who can speak Swahili. We have invited them to church, witnessed to many of them, and have seen several trust Christ and come to church.
Another time while eating breakfast in a hotel, I saw a lady and her relative. The Lord pricked my heart to speak to them. After chatting for a while, they told me that they were in town for cancer treatments. I was able to share the Gospel with them, and Dianne bowed her head and trusted Christ as her Saviour.
Project Building Faith
As of right now, we have seen God provide nearly $12,000 for the “Project Building Faith” building project, along with some churches who have committed to giving in the future. We have a long way to go; but we believe the Lord will work, and we know the need is great. We as a family have already started giving and putting money towards this project. Pray for our church family, as this year our Tanzanian church folks will be raising money for the building as well. Help us pray that God would continue to provide in His timing. Our goal is to have $75,000 by groundbreaking.
Montana and Kellie Morrow
Please pray for Montana and Kellie Morrow as they return to the States to finish deputation to return to Tanzania. I had asked them to come and be a part of our staff team while we were in the States on furlough. They have been serving here in Morogoro for over six months. Would you pray that this couple could raise their support quickly? We need their help. They will be working with us in every area of the ministry. Feel free to contact Bro. Montana at 319.360.4155 or via email at morrowtanzania@hotmail.com.
Faith Baptist Church
We praise the Lord for incredible growth in our church this year. We have truly seen God’s hand of blessing. For the year, we have seen the highest average in attendance on Sundays our church has ever seen. Each week we have visitors attend our services. We had a total of 869 first-time visitors for the year of 2018. God also blessed with over 3,000 people trusting Christ as their personal Saviour. Please help us pray as we disciple these new converts and see them grounded in Christ. We are excited to see what God has for His church in 2019. Our theme for the new year is “Pamoja,” which means “Together,” followed with “Knowing, Growing, Going,” and II Peter 3:18 as our theme verse.
Sincerely,
Jerry & Rachel Wyatt
