Christian DeMoville Prayer Letter: Beginning My Journey as a Missionary to the PhilippinesMy name is Christian DeMoville, and it is with joy that I write this first of hopefully many letters to share what God has been doing in my life and to ask for your prayers as I take the steps toward the mission field. I am a second-generation missionary returning to the Philippines.

WHO I AM

I grew up as a missionary kid in Central Philippines, where my parents have served faithfully for years. The Lord saved me at the age of five, and my family moved to the Philippines when I was eight years old. God gave me a front-row seat to see Him work in powerful ways—salvations, baptisms, a planted church, and transformed lives.

After graduating from high school and taking one year of classes at Hyles-Anderson College of the Philippines, God brought me back to the United States at the age of nineteen to study missions at Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana. During my four years there, I had the privilege to serve as a bus captain and division leader on the South Side of Chicago. I am grateful to the people of First Baptist Church and Hyles-Anderson College for the opportunities they gave me, which have allowed the Lord to work in my life. I graduated this past May of 2025 and joined FBMI in July. At this time, I am working during the week and focusing my deputation efforts on weekends and nearby churches as I prepare for the next season of life and ministry.

GOD IS STILL WORKING

The more I grow in this journey of the Christian life, the more I am reminded, time and time again, that God is still working! In
a world where discouragement comes easily—where we see moral decline, spiritual apathy, and cultural opposition—I’ve witnessed that our God truly is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the hope of America, the Philippines, and the world. The answer to it all is Jesus. I believe there is no better cause for which to live or die than taking Jesus’ name to the lost.

Though many years have passed since our Lord spoke these words to His disciples, the truth remains—“. . . The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few.” May we get behind the effort of praying for more laborers.

The Lord has given me a burden to return to International Baptist Church of Dumaguete City to partner with them in reaching the lost, strengthening and starting churches, and raising another generation to do the same. My desire is to see churches started all over Negros Island, all over the Visayas Region, throughout the Philippines, and around the world. I plan to work alongside the existing ministry, teaching at the Bible college, training leaders, and reaching people with God’s Word. God is working in the Philippines, and I believe He has plans to use this country to reach into the uttermost parts of Asia and the world.

God has a great work ahead, and I am humbled that He would allow me to have a part in it. I know this work will only happen through His power and through the prayers and support of His people.

1. Pray with me.

More than anything, I need your prayers. Without God’s power, nothing we do will matter. Would you pray:
• For God to open doors and provide the resources needed to reach the field.
• For wisdom, boldness, and protection as I prepare for this calling.
• For salvations and church plants and for leaders to be raised up in the Philippines.
• For this and the next generation to catch a vision for missions.

2. Partner with me.

I would be honored if you would consider partnering with me in this work—whether through regular prayer, by receiving ministry updates, or through financial support as the Lord leads. If God is stirring your heart toward the Philippines, I would love the opportunity to share more about what He is doing there and explore how we might partner together.

For this season, I am working part-time during the week, so my availability for church visits is currently limited to weekends and churches within driving distance of Hammond, Indiana. However, I would be grateful for any opportunity to visit your church—whether for a Sunday service, a Missions Conference, or a special meeting—to present the need and opportunity in the Philippines.

For those interested in financial partnership, I can share more about how to give through Fundamental Baptist Missions International. Please feel free to contact me by phone at 219-308-4198 or by email at christian.demoville@fbmi.org if you would like to discuss how we might partner together.

I am excited to see what God is going to do. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I would consider it a privilege if God opens the door for us to partner together in reaching the Philippines for Christ.

For the cause of Christ,

Christian DeMoville
FBMI Missionary to the Philippines

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
(Matthew 28:19-20)
