In November, I was so happy to hold 2 different pastors’ training workshops – one with 25 and another with 30 pastors. I covered a variety of different topics, including organizing church activities, using a calendar, organizing the main service, holding the Lord’s Supper, natural health, and preaching with power. It was especially interesting when I showed them that Jesus served the Lord’s Supper to Judas Iscariet, because many here are very judgmental on who can or cannot take it.
Then for Thanksgiving, we were happy to have about 25 of our closer friends come for Thanksgiving Day. They came from 4-5 churches we work with. Uganda does not have an official holiday for Thanksgiving, so it was fun to share ours with them and also hear their testimonies of how God has blessed them.
In December, I went up North for a preaching conference and was able to preach to over 200 people. I also took private time with 30 pastors to hold the same workshop. They also were very happy for the simple instruction and ideas that they can immediately put into practice.
We were also happy to have Pastor Rama from Burundi come up and visit us. His passport was stolen in Burundi, and he had to go back to Rwanda to get a new one. So, he came up and said his goodbyes to our last three children before they go back to the States; then he flew back down. He is doing a great job at running the radio station, and almost every week, visitors are coming to that church and another Baptist church close by. The radio station is a very effective tool to blanket the area with the Gospel.
We were also happy to organize a Christmas play in Bwerenga Bible Baptist Church. It was a lot of fun, and some parents of the bus kids came to watch. In December, I also led a Muslim man to Christ. He visited several times, and I said to him every time he came, “I am glad you are here, but you need a blood sacrifice to wash away your sins.” Just before Christmas, I said it again, and he was ready to ask Jesus to save him. Amen! These months, we had 14 saved out soul winning.
