“Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:38)
To God be the glory; great things He hath done. We have wonderful blessings to report of souls coming to Christ in December, starting with our planning a trip to Bangkok for a Bible Conference. As you may remember, Silas, my faithful helper in the Lord, was a former tour guide. He called a friend who used to drive for him, and he came to take us on our trip. Silas was glad he was going to have an opportunity to share the Gospel with another friend. His friend asked him what he did now. Silas began to explain his journey in life since they had quit working together and the new life he had found in Christ. He told his friend that he, too, could know the joy that he had found. Several kilometers later, his friend called on the Lord Jesus to be his Saviour.
Another very special blessing and big answer to prayer was for a lady named Ja. My wife led Ja to Christ more than five years ago. When Ja was saved, she had a three-year-old daughter, and she told us she had a thirteen-year-old son who had been taken away from her when he was five years old by her husband who had left her and taken their son. After she came to know Christ, she began to pray earnestly for her son, daughter, and husband’s salvation. She did not know his whereabouts until about two months ago when her son found her on Facebook and they began to communicate. He lives in Bangkok near where this same Bible Conference was being held. Ja began to pray as Silas and I made arrangements to meet him, hoping and praying for the opportunity to share the Gospel with him. He agreed to meet us at a mall. We sat down in a food court and began to talk. He was now 18 years old and very intelligent. He spoke English very well. “I believe in science,” he said, “and that is why I don’t believe in God.” To which I replied, “I believe in science, too, and that is how we can know God is real. The difference is I believe in true science and not make-believe science. We know God is real because of what He said. Scientists have spent billions of dollars trying to prove what God said to be wrong, and every failed attempt proves God is real.” I showed him many things God had said, to which he agreed that all were true. Then I said, “Would you like to see what God said about how to go to Heaven?” He said he would like to know. When I showed him Revelation 20:14, he was visibly shaken, and replied, “That is not good.” “No, it’s not,” I said, “but God loves you, and He doesn’t want you to go to the lake of fire.” He listened very intently. After some time, he decided that what he believed was wrong and what God said was right, and then he decided he needed to call on the Lord Jesus to be his Saviour. He very sweetly bowed his head and asked Jesus to save him. Praise the Lord!!
Blessings kept coming on Christmas Eve, as we had 24 visitors who came and heard about the birth of Jesus Christ and why He came. Praise the Lord, a few of them said yes to the Lord Jesus! Nueng’s husband was one of those who came but still didn’t get saved. As I said in our last letter, Nueng is a faithful member; please pray with us for her husband.
