Missionary #6004 Prayer Letter: A Blessed Season of Opportunity“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”
(Ephesians 1:3)

The last couple of months were a blessed season of opportunity. The Gospel was preached, souls were saved, and the name of Jesus was lifted up to those without hope. It is truly a blessing to serve our great God.

In November, E___, S___, and their young son Y___ showed up one morning at the church. I had the opportunity to inquire about E___’s salvation, and he happily told me of how he had met Jesus in another city at a very low point in his life. He had already committed many Bible verses to memory. His wife grew up around church, but when confronted with the Gospel, she was unsure of her salvation. St___ was able to share the Gospel with her during a fellowship time, and S___ decided to trust Christ! Please pray for this young family to grow in the Lord.

Also in November, we held a Thanksgiving meeting on the Sunday evening before Thanksgiving. There were 50 in attendance to hear the Gospel message! Some of our language teachers came, one of whom is a devout Buddhist. Mi____, a young man whom Bro. F___ and I have been tag-teaming, came and brought his friend Ma___. These young men have been asking very good questions and are open to receiving Christ but have not made that commitment yet. Please pray for these folks to be saved.

As I mentioned in my video, we were able to take part in the nursing home and public school Christmas outreach. With the team from the church, we were able to get a clear Gospel message to around 2,000 students, teachers, patients, and staff! At one of the schools, a young girl wanted to talk with R___. R___ asked her what she had learned in school that day. The little girl said she had heard that day for the first time what the real meaning of Christmas is! Praise the Lord for such a great opportunity to shine the light of Jesus in the public schools.

The yearly church Christmas program also had a large attendance of 50-plus. That evening, our family had many visitors come, including our neighbors B___ and K___. When asked about the Gospel and trusting in Jesus, K___ replied, “Give us time.”

Christmas Eve also saw a large crowd come with many visitors. One young lady, whom we led to Christ in July, brought a friend visiting her from France. T___ had a religious background but was unsure of his status with God. I told him how his friend C___ had gotten saved a few months before. I then had the opportunity to share the Gospel with T___, and he decided to accept Jesus Christ as well! At the same meeting, another family we have been working with for over a year now also came. The dad got saved last Christmas. This year, R___ was able to lead his daughter M___ to trust in Jesus!

One day in December, we met our upstairs neighbor in the elevator. They were very excited to invite us to their Christmas party and would not take no for an answer. The parents have a pretty solid Christian testimony, so we decided to try to build the relationship and see what influence the Lord could give us.
As it turns out, they had some exchange students coming in from South Korea, as well as a couple of unsaved friends coming to celebrate Christmas. When we agreed to come, the dad talked to me privately and asked, “At the start of the party, can you pray for us and share the true meaning of Christmas with our guests?” Around 20 people were there altogether, and the Lord gave me grace to clearly present the Gospel in Chinese.

So in all, I had the opportunity to preach the Gospel 4 times in Chinese to large groups, as well as preach on our normal Sunday evening meeting and a Wednesday Bible study. Praise the Lord for helping me to progress in Chinese! Our family was also able to hand out 60 stockings with a snack and a Gospel tract in our neighborhood, as well as pass out 2,000 tracts for the entire year!

Bound to His service,
