We would like to start off by saying thank you so much for your prayers for us over these last several weeks. As many of you know, Cassandra and I are currently in the States working on visa paperwork for our residency in Peru. We are waiting on paperwork that should arrive by June 1. Please pray for this situation, as we have so much going on in Peru and are looking forward to getting back to our church and ministry.
While here, we have been able to be a part of some amazing things the Lord has done. At the end of April, we were able to be a part of an exciting revival with our good friend Pastor Eric Grindstaff in North Carolina and then speak for two wonderful churches, Roaring Creek Baptist Church and Zion Hill Baptist Church.
On May 1, we traveled to Washington, Iowa, where I was given the opportunity to preach for Pastor Joe Brown in the Our Time Youth Conference at Marion Avenue Baptist Church. The theme this year was “Forged.” It was an amazing week! Many, many decisions were made for Christ. I was grateful to lead a young man from our home church to the Lord after one of the services. We enjoyed serving alongside many friends.
The following week, we were able to visit Elkton, South Dakota, where my brother Caleb and the church have started a wonderful Spanish work. He serves at the First Baptist Church of Elkton with Pastor Brandon Jorgensen. In addition to pastoring the Spanish congregation, he also is the youth pastor and wears many other hats. It was exciting to see how their young Spanish church is growing! We had the privilege of being a part of their inaugural service two years ago, and this is the first time we’ve been back. We loved seeing many new faces and families that have since joined.
Back in Peru, our church is seeing many blessings. There was a large outreach organized by Bro. Rollin Bardales, who does a tremendous job overseeing our bus routes. Our church went together to visit the same area, and over 20 people made a profession of faith. In a few weeks, we will be kicking off our attendance program on Father’s Day. It’s always a big day for our church. We will rent a soccer court and have a tournament after the Sunday
morning service. We will also grill some burgers and hot dogs and have some local Peruvian food. Please pray that many visitors would come and that many would be saved.
On June 3, we have a large missions trip coming from Providence Baptist Church in Riverview, Florida. We will be traveling to the jungle to work with a national pastor, as well as reaching new villages with the Gospel. We will also be presenting a water-purification system from Bro. John Hays and Pure Water for All. This has been a wonderful open door to reach new areas for Christ. At the end of the trip, we will be back in our church in Lima, where we will be blitzing one of our neighborhoods with the Gospel. Please pray for the Lord to bless this trip!
Thank you all for your prayers and support. We look forward to updating you soon with more blessings from Peru!
God bless you all,
Zach and Cassandra Foust
