In November, I had the awesome privilege of traveling to Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone, to spend one week training a group of church leaders. These leaders were from approximately 20 different churches. I spoke on the subjects of soul winning and marriage.
Freetown was a most intriguing city, as it is largely nestled on the sides of ocean-front mountains. The country is very poor, and I was struck by the level of poverty there.
The conference was very successful; in that, the group to which I spoke was both intelligent and teachable. It was such a joy to teach hungry listeners. I also had the privilege to travel on two nights and preach in two of the church plants.
Another blessing is that just over a year ago, a fine young man from Sierra Leone enrolled in our Bible college. Please pray that we would be able to continue to influence these churches and that they would be able to extend the Gospel’s reach in Sierra Leone.
Our staff member Rancy Harris accompanied me on the trip. Bro. Rancy received his bachelor’s degree from our Bible college in December, and he is considering becoming a missionary to Sierra Leone. Pray for God’s will to be done.
Details about our December Bible college graduation can be found in Missionary Mike Sarver’s prayer letter for January. Please pray that God would continue to send us the right students for our Bible college.
Yours for souls,
