Last month, 95 pastors attended our yearly conference. Normally, we would have about 500 delegates for our Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference. However, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we hosted a smaller meeting for just senior pastors and their assistants. For the seminar, we set up 20 tables in our auditorium. One staff member sat at each table to build a rapport with our guests. Strengthening our ties with these pastors was one advantage of having a smaller conference.
Our theme was “Exposing False and Cult Teachings.” In addition to the teaching, we highlighted several of our ministries. We presented our Sunday school program on Tuesday afternoon and our Bible college on Wednesday afternoon. Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, we held a banquet for our guests. After the meal on Tuesday evening, we presented our soul-winning ministry; on Wednesday evening, we presented our information center ministry. Question-and-answer sessions were also held.
We provided the evening meals on Tuesday and Thursday, lodging, lunch Tuesday through Thursday, a copy of my book—Lessons on Tongues, and two other books from our bookstore for our delegates. Plus, each senior pastor was given a dozen hardcover Bibles to take home to his church.
One pastor told me that, because of this seminar, his church would be restarting their information center ministry. Another pastor wrote to me: “Pastor, this year’s special teachings have been a blessing to us. . . . This was my 6th time to attend. I see the zeal with which your staff works. It’s been an encouragement to me.” He also mentioned that they are already putting into use the information we gave them about our Sunday school program. Your faithful support has allowed us, through this conference, to be a great blessing to these men of God. Thank you!
Prayer Requests
Please pray for this seminar to have a lasting impact. We thank God for the five families on our team. Pray for each family, and perhaps take time this month to read one of the Sarver family’s latest prayer letters: fbmi.org/missionary/sarver#updates.
Sincerely,
Ted Speer
