“My God is so BIG, so STRONG, and so MIGHTY! There’s nothing my GOD cannot do!” We all remember that song when we were kids, but the words of the song become more real to me as I get older. God is incredible, but so often we don’t really take the time to fathom His attributes of being BIG, STRONG, and MIGHTY. God has been good to us here in Tanzania. We are grateful that we can serve Him here and happy to update you on what’s been going on.
Our Easter Sunday was wonderful! It’s always a special time to be together as a church family, celebrating the Resurrection of our great Saviour. It’s also a great opportunity to invite lost folks who normally wouldn’t come to church. We had 406 that day. The kids had an Easter-egg hunt, our teens put on a play, and we all were able to eat on the church grounds. It also started the first week of our Spring Program. This is the first time we have ever done anything like this. Each month there will be a big prize to win. For the month of April, we will give the winner 220 pounds of corn. They will grind the corn up into flour, which will be a big help to them, because the staple food here is made of corn flour. The following months, the prizes will be a mattress and a water tank. We are looking forward to seeing God bring in new families.
A Quick Update on GBC in Gonja: They are doing well, though the Devil is fighting hard there. Please keep them in your prayers. They are out in the middle of nowhere, and life’s simple pleasures are hard to find. We were able to assist them in buying property and putting up a permanent building. We tried to do another trip up there, but with all the rain, the roads were washed away. When the water subsides, we will do our best to make it up there again.
Also, please be in prayer for our guests who are coming the first week in May. Pray that they have safe travels and enjoy themselves. We are happy and honored that they are willing to come.
We were also happy to hear about and pray for a lot of our supporting churches that had missions conferences. We can remember when we were on deputation going to different missions conferences and how much fun they were and how much of a blessing you all were to us. We are glad that we can team up with such godly people who have a heart for the world. We appreciate the generous love offerings that we received this year during the missions conferences at Riverview Baptist Church of Pasco, Washington, and Liberty Baptist Church of Durham, North Carolina. We are just so grateful for people. We love all of our supporting churches and pray for you all that the Gospel will go forth and the Devil won’t creep in and cause trouble. Please feel free to email us if you have a specific prayer request. We want to be there for you all. Thanks again for your love and support towards us.
Your friends,
Mshama, Martha, & Esther Kinyonga
