Mshama and Martha Kinyonga Prayer Letter: Valuable Life Lessons and Great MemoriesAs the year 2024 is coming to an end, we want to start out by praising God for another year. There have been some valuable life lessons learned and some great memories created this past year. We pray that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We want to take a moment to update you on a few things that have been happening throughout these months.

Soul Winning

On my way back to Tanzania, I was sitting next to a young lady named Susana. She was an atheist. We had a great conversation for hours. She respectfully let me present her the Gospel. While she did not accept Christ, I could see that she was thinking heavily about our conversation. I’m grateful that I was able to plant the seed. Please continue to pray for Susana; pray that she will run into another Christian who may one day lead her to the Lord.

Ministry

I had a successful trip back to Tanzania, and this month of December has also been successful so far. It was good to see our church folks back at Grace. We have been busy this month hosting and getting ready for Christmas. We were able to have veteran missionary Mark Holmes come one Sunday to preach both services and to our teens. He was such an encouragement; we had 385 in church, with some salvations and baptisms. Our Wednesday night service has also grown. I have been challenging our people to get out of the regular tradition of just Sunday services and to come to the midweek service. This past Wednesday, December 18, we had 209 for our midweek service, which is encouraging, and each week it seems that the numbers go up. We also started a new Sunday school class for our young men. It is a singles’ class, college age on up. We have been trying to add some new classes so we can minister to folks on a more personal level. We now have a total of four. We thank God for growth. There will also be another wedding on Christmas Day, which I will have the privilege to conduct.

Health

Martha underwent radiation, starting on December 5 and ending December 13. It was a concentrated radiation. There were five rounds, but each round was the equivalent of four rounds. She truly is strong. There was much nausea and vomiting, but we are grateful that it is done. We will have a follow-up CT scan on February 3. There is also a doctor’s visit on the 10th of February. Please continue to pray that the Lord will find favor and remove the cancer completely.

We want to thank everyone who has prayed for us, who has sent cards or a text, or who has sent gifts or extra monies. We truly are humbled and grateful for your love and generosity. Thank you for allowing us to be your representatives still in the country of Tanzania. We love you all. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

For His glory,

Mshama, Martha, Esther, Benjamin, Rachel, & Sarah Kinyonga
