June and July were extremely busy for the church in the Philippines as they continued to go soul winning and reach the community. The third church that we started, Family Baptist Church, held their Vacation Bible School. It had been almost three years since they had Vacation Bible School because of the COVID restrictions. The Holy Spirit worked on hearts through the Word of God, and many of the children received the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. Another blessing is that a couple of the parents attended the sessions and were able to hear the Gospel message.
Our church, Highland Baptist Church, along with our fourth church, Apugan Baptist Church, also held successful Vacation Bible School weeks. It is a blessing to have our churches work together to help each other run successful Vacation Bible schools in different areas. We do this by using the same material, so decorations, crafts, and games can be passed along week after week until each church has had VBS. Even teachers and helpers will travel and work to make it successful. We are praying that we can reach more people and that God will give the increase.
Back in the Philippines, the church is preparing for the “Christmas in July” program. This began as just a fun rainy-season promotion, but over the years, it has brought new visitors and reached more people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as they come just to see what is going on.
The new church we are planning to start is about 45 minutes away. The home Bible studies are continuing every month. Already a few people have been attending, and we thank the Lord for those who have called on the Lord for salvation.
Please pray for our family. Our daughters Anastasia and Rachel are returning to college here in America, and we have plans to return to the Philippines this September. It will be a big adjustment for each of us.
Another prayer request is for our raising funds for our building. Please pray that God will provide this need for a permanent building. Thank you again for your prayers and support.
