Just recently, I took a group of men out soul winning in a neighborhood close to the church. We knocked on many doors, talked to a lot of people, and passed out many Gospel tracts. The next Sunday, we had 9 first-time visitors in the morning service and 9 first-time visitors in the evening service. The harvest is great—we just need to go out and reach them!
During January and February, we had a lot of hot weather, with days on end of temperatures in the 90-degree range and some days up to 101ºF. This heat slowed me down because it was strong! Pastor Larry Owens here has been suffering because of the heat also, and it had slowed him down to the point that he was not able to go to church for a few services. I was concerned for him and decided to pray and send a letter out to raise funds for an air conditioning unit for his bedroom. I led the people here to give for the air conditioner, and many other pastors responded. We were able to get an air conditioner for his bedroom and for the kitchen dining room. Praise the Lord! Thank you for your prayers and for responding towards this need.
On the 24th of February, I received the news of the passing of my mother, who was in a nursing home in Texas. On the 5th of March, I traveled back to the USA for the funeral. On that Friday, all of my siblings gathered for a special evening together before the funeral. It was a wonderful time filled with cherished memories. The funeral took place on Saturday, March 8, in Greenville, Missouri, where many uncles and relatives came to support us. We felt surrounded by love and are truly grateful for the strong Biblical heritage passed down through our family. Pastor Brian Wilson officiated the funeral, delivering a comforting and uplifting message. We proceeded to the cemetery around noon.
My mother was deeply loved and held in high regard by all. My mother remained steadfast in her faith until the end, consistently reading her Bible and sharing her faith with everyone she met. I am incredibly thankful for her influence in my life. My mom would praise me on a regular basis and firmly believed that God would use me greatly. In my last conversation with my mother, she expressed how much she missed me, but she also reminded me that my work in Argentina was more important and encouraged me to continue seeing people saved and churches started in Argentina.
I appreciate all of the cards, flowers, and messages of sympathy you have sent. On the 19th of March, I was back in Argentina with my family. Thank you for all your love and support. We are honored to be a partner with you to reach Argentina for Christ!
At your service,
Brian R. George and Family
