Chad and Sarah Inman Prayer Letter: Serving the Lord – A Happy LifeWelcome back to Thailand! We’ve enjoyed clean air now for the past two months, which is tremendously better than what we experienced in the first half of the year with a lot of burning and smog around the clock. This Monday morning, our family took a mountain-bike ride into the nearby pineapple fields, hearing the birds, taking a sip of coffee, navigating the dirt paths, and then just trying to get back home in one piece. We thank God for the natural and safe surroundings He has given us since moving into our house in late 2011. Fast forward to today, God has given us great Sundays this past month, with first-time visitors and souls saved each week. Beginning this past July 28, my areas of responsibility changed temporarily. While the Shook family is in the States taking Ms. Lauren Shook to Bible college, I’m manning the pulpit in Hua Hin for the Sunday and Wednesday services, along with leading the weekly Tuesday and Friday team meetings. Tan and Jack are both translators for me and are doing fantastic. Tan is doing a quality work covering Bro. Tim Shook’s teen Sunday school class. Pong and Star are, with excellence, taking care of the Sunday and Wednesday services in Nong Phlap. Sarah continues covering the children’s ministries in Nong Phlap on Sundays. The blessings of a team are that when someone is sick or needs to travel, the bases get covered, and we often gain experience in new responsibilities that help us grow. Please pray for our team, for health, safety, and success in the temporarily adjusted responsibilities. Also, please pray for our team leader, Bro. Tim Shook, as he manages family and ministry in the States. Pray for Lauren, too, as she starts Bible college.

Teens

Thank the Lord, our teenagers are growing. At Nong Phlap, many teens have been involved in our Wednesday night discipleship program over the years. This year, we’re making a greater emphasis with regular activities, music specials, and responsibilities. This past Sunday, the teens sang a music special, which marks their third week in a row for doing so. Pong, Star, Sarah, and I are each working to influence and spiritually develop the teens at Nong Phlap. August saw two activities on August 1 and August 31 that were both fun and full of great counsel and teaching. Please pray for these teenagers’ decisions, protection, and growth.

Teaching English

Every week, I’m involved in teaching English on Saturday mornings for two hours to about 25 Thai young people. The ages range from 8 to 20. This is another contact point for many church children and teens from both the Hua Hin church and the Nong Phlap church. Ms. Shari House also teaches in this program and generously writes much of our curriculum. Since 2008, I’ve taught English nearly every week both at our language school and, at times, directly in the public schools. I don’t mention it very often in the prayer letters, but the opportunity is a big one. This ministry has the capability of meeting, teaching, and growing large numbers of Thai children and teenagers for the Lord in our areas. Most Thai children and parents seek improvement in the English language, as Thailand ranks much lower in English proficiency versus other Asian countries. Please pray for God’s continued blessing on this ministry and for future growth as more team missionaries join our school as teachers in 2025 and beyond.

Giving the Gospel

I had the unique opportunity, while getting my vehicle serviced, to speak with an Israeli man, Jimmy, who was both
Jewish and an Atheist. He was so appreciative to hear my full, confident belief in the Bible and the Gospel. He told me that my faith makes my life so simple. I agreed and explained that God lights our path so we don’t have to live in complexity and doubt. Throughout our 90-minute conversation, the Gospel was intertwined in multiple different ways. I feel like we left the meeting with Jimmy being open to the idea of God showing him truth and salvation. I told him I’m praying that God will stir his faith and make the truth obvious. He thanked me for taking a long time with him, and I thought, well, this is what I do. I was thankful for him. Please pray for Jimmy’s salvation. Through August 25, God gave Sarah, Star, Pong, Jack, Da, and me the opportunity to see 36 souls saved. So many still have never heard the Gospel. We must keep sharing the Good News!

Nong Phlap Church Building Fund

Church members helped with cutting the grass this month. The land is looking beautiful and is legally under the umbrella of the Thailand ministries here. Please pray with us in this endeavor to build for the future of the Nong Phlap church.
