We are a little behind on writing our update prayer letter, and we apologize for that. We do love to keep our supporting and praying friends “in the loop” about what God is doing here in Peru. We hope that you have gotten a recent update video regarding our Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference held at the beginning of the month and that it was a blessing to your church family. This year’s conference was very well attended, with many trusting Christ during the soul-winning time and in the services. Several people surrendered their lives to serve the Lord, and the overall spirit of the conference was the best! This is our annual Pastors’ School that we hold here in Lima. Additionally, throughout the year, we try to hold conferences somewhere in Peru, but outside of Lima, to train and encourage local churches and pastors in evangelism, discipleship, music, family, and many other important topics. We invite national pastors and foreign missionaries to help us preach and teach in these conferences. In the month of October, we will be heading to the south of Peru to hold such a conference. It is always a blessing to be able to connect with people all over the country who are winning souls and giving their all for the kingdom of Christ. Please pray with us for these conferences!
This year has been a little different for our family, as we have done some international travel! We were recently able to travel to the country of Belize to help Bro. John Hays do a water-system distribution in that country. It was a blessing to get to give water systems to many pastors at a Fires of Evangelism Conference and to get into several villages to preach the Gospel and give them a chance to have clean water. While at the conference, I had the opportunity to translate for my pastor, John Wilkerson, which was a great blessing to me! My wife was also able to teach the ladies and translate. Zach and Cassandra were able to be a part of this work in Belize as well and were a huge help and blessing.
Then, in the month of September, we traveled to Istanbul, Turkey! This was to attend a Missions Mastermind gathering of many missionaries and the leaders of our mission board. It was an incredible blessing and help to us. We learned a lot from other veteran missionaries and returned to Lima with our batteries charged!
Our churches here in Lima are doing well! As many of you know, our son Zach is serving here now, and he has taken the responsibility of the San Gabriel church. The church is doing well under his leadership, and we are excited to see how it is growing. The church in Surco is also doing very well. We are serving as pastor of this church and are seeing adult visitors almost every week, with many being saved out in soul-winning times and in the services. Many people are growing in the Lord, completing discipleship courses, and getting involved in different areas of ministry. Please continue to pray for these precious people who lost their pastor earlier this year, and pray for us as we seek to love and guide them.
We have several prayer requests! Please pray for our upcoming trip to Mexico to teach on discipleship for a week in a Bible institute. Please continue to pray for the church in Surco and for several people my wife and I are discipling there. We have a large group coming from the States for a missions trip in November, as well. Please pray that many will be saved in the jungle and here in the city because of that trip. Also, please be in prayer for our Christian school project, as we try to give a good option for our church people to educate their children. Please pray for me as I go into the jungle this week. Pray that many will be saved and added to the church there in Iquitos. Please pray for our institute. God is really working, and we have a record number of students training to serve the Lord this semester.
As always, we thank you for your many prayers and for your support. God bless you.
His for souls,
Zach and Karin Foust
