We are eager to plant our new church, and we are looking forward to seeing what God is going to do on our opening day! The starting date is Sunday, July 10, so please pray that Christ would be lifted up and that many visitors would get saved and baptized.
In the month of May, another missionary by the name of Bro. Kenneth Ellzey invited me to preach at his new church plant in Riberalta, Bolivia. We had good fellowship, and after the preaching, a man got saved during the invitation! I did not get his name after the service because of all that was going on, but please pray that the man who mines for gold in the rivers of Bolivia would become a faithful member of the church and that he would grow to become a powerful servant of Christ!
For the month of June, I was already scheduled to preach a Teen Camp for our church in La Paz, Iglesia Bautista El Faro. When I finally found a place for our new church, there was a conflict of schedule. God gave me the idea to have the Teen Camp in Santa Cruz and make the theme “Planting Churches and Missions.” After explaining it to Pastor Alberto, he talked with the church about it, and they got very excited! So far, we have 30 people who will be traveling about 22 hours by bus for the Teen Camp and to help us plant the church! During the camp, I will be preaching and teaching on missions and about great missionaries from the past. We will also cast the vision of working together to plant churches in all nine states of Bolivia, and then sow the seeds of sending out missionaries from our churches to plant churches beyond the borders of Bolivia in other countries around the world. We need more soldiers to be recruited for the Lord’s army to further the cause of Christ! Please pray that God would work in the hearts of the teenagers and adults in order to call them to surrender their lives to be church planters and missionaries.
As soon as I get my prayer letters proofread, I send them out through email to get them into the hands of our “Prayer Warriors.” A prayer letter service also prints them and sends hard copies through the U.S. Postal Service to those who are on our hard-copy prayer letter list. The emails go out instantaneously, while the hard copies take about a week or so to receive. I am also planning to send out short videos of our ministries through email as the ministry grows. If you would be interested in joining our email prayer letter list, please send me an email to xlbolivia@hotmail.com. I will readily inscribe your name on our Prayer Warrior’s Email Prayer Letter List.
These have been and are exceedingly busy days to get everything prepared for our opening service, but I would not have it any other way. I am so excited and feel privileged to be coworkers together with you as you pray and give and as we pray, give, and go. Please pray for the physical and spiritual health of our family. Please pray that God would help us rear our girls to be godly young ladies who have a heart for God. Please pray that God would bless our marriage in an extraordinary way and help us build the type of marriage that He enjoys. Please also pray that God would provide the funds to buy 200 chairs. At $12 a chair, the cost for 200 chairs comes out to $2,400. With all that we are spending to get the church ready, that is a heavy sum for us, so we greatly appreciate your prayers.
Thank you for sacrificing part of your life in prayer for our family and ministry. What we are striving to accomplish for the Lord is absolutely impossible without the prayers of God’s people. This is a spiritual war, and we desperately need your prayers to reinforce our efforts to achieve the victory for our Lord!
When the battle’s over, we shall wear a crown!
