As I mentioned in my last letter, I went to Gabon in September to be with Missionary Fisa Mihy-mihyndu. Fisa, who is originally from Gabon, came to the USA and lived here for 19 years, got on fire for God here, and surrendered to go back to his home country. Since going back to his country, he has started a church in Libreville, which is going well, and he is in the process of seeing another church established in a city about one hour away. We went soul winning in both areas and saw souls saved in each city. One lady who was with us gave her testimony. She had lived a “John Chapter 4,” life but once she got saved, she started going to this Baptist church and now has joy in her heart. After she gave her testimony, I had the joy of leading the man she was talking with to Christ. At the next house where we stopped, I was able to talk to a man who claimed to be 114 years old, and he got saved. I preached at the main church in Libreville, and souls were saved in the services.
A week after returning from Gabon, I headed south to be with missionaries in Uruguay and Argentina. My first stop was in Argentina, where I was with Missionary Ben George, his wife Berenice, and their son Jonathan. Ben just started his church the first week of September. I have known the Brian George family (his father) for over 25 years and have watched Ben mature in Christ. Berenice comes from a wonderful family, whom I have known for 20 years. Two of her brothers have interpreted for me many times and are serving Christ as preachers. What a blessing it was to be with this young couple.
My next stop was to take a quick stop in Uruguay to be with Missionary Tim Simmons, his wife Christa, and their family. They have been in Uruguay since 2021 learning the language and are just now in the process of getting a church started. It was a joy to hear of his plans to get a church started in the near future, maybe in the beginning of 2025.
From Uruguay, I flew up into Argentina again to be with three missionary families: the Larry Owens family, the Brian George family, and the Joshua Owens family. Joshua started a church two years ago. I had the privilege to preach his first church service, his one-year anniversary service, and this year his two-year anniversary service. There were 300 in attendance, with at least 20 receiving Christ as their Saviour. I taught a week in the Bethel Baptist Seminary and preached in the Sunday and midweek services at Bethel Baptist Church.
Within a week after returning to the USA, I headed to Nigeria so I could preach and teach in a Soul-Winning/Leadership/ Missions Conference, hosted by Missionary Dave Maskey in the city of Port Harcourt. The church had a big day of 709 in attendance, 60 saved, and 28 baptized on the Sunday prior to the conference; 25 pastors came for the conference. It was great to see these pastors, some of whom I have preached for in the past.
Thank you for praying for me. God has graciously kept me healthy enough to continue traveling. Your prayers make a difference.
Your servant,
Missionary Evangelist James Belisle
