“Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.” (Luke 6:47-48)
After nine months in our new home country, the closest we have come to literal high water has been a few broken pipes in our home, which, thankfully, we were able to bring under control with a few mops and buckets. With much gratitude for the foundation that only our Saviour can provide, we have been able to weather some spiritual storms and prosper greatly in recent weeks. Some new developments:
1. Team Eurasia has welcomed a second family to the field. The A____ family joined us November 12.
2. In one month we have seen accomplished for the A_____ family what it took us four months to accomplish for ourselves. God has provided them with a beautiful rental home at a very affordable price. They already have all of their utilities and most of the furniture and appliances that they need.
3. We have received a residency permit for the youngest member of our team, who was born here in September.
4. After eight months on the field, the B______ family finally has all their utilities, including Wi-Fi. This gives all of their friends and supporters nearly instant access. The Team Leader requests that people use his new email address, helpdesk@www.fbmi.org and that they remember discretion in those emails.
5. The first-year residency permit process for the A_____ family is nearly complete already!
6. We are gaining new contacts, students, and/or potential students almost daily.
7. Pray that we can complete the complex establishment of the school as a limited company, which is finally making significant headway. Until this is complete, we are teaching for free in exchange for help with our language learning.
8. A 30-year-old young native, whom I had the privilege of leading to Christ, is meeting with us on a regular basis.
9. We have been assisting and receiving assistance from another team of like-minded workers here. They have been a great blessing to us.
10. Pastor Wilkerson and his wife were just with us for a very brief visit.
11. We are working together with First Bible on the objective of getting a received-text Bible in the official language of our host country published and widely distributed.
These 11 praises are a direct answer to the faithful prayers of friends who covenant with us in our efforts. “Stay tuned” in the coming months as much greater developments take shape. We are confident that the Master Builder will use this foundation as a staging ground for eternal blessings to come!
