The last couple of months have been quite busy. We traveled to four different churches to speak at three Family Conferences and one camp. One church was a 16-hour bus ride away. The conference was a blessing, and then on Monday evening, we boarded our bus to return home. The bus left the station but then immediately turned around and returned to the station. The driver had just been notified that there were roadblocks on the highways, so the trip was canceled. We were not able to travel until three days later.
The roadblocks, which occurred in most of the states, were protests of the presidential election that had just taken place between the current president and a socialist candidate who had been president previously but had been removed and sentenced to time in prison. The socialist was declared the winner, but people have peacefully protested across the country. Please pray for Brazil, as there is still much uneasiness over the situation.
We had 18 kids go to camp. One of the girls realized she was not really saved, and I was able to lead her to the Lord. She gave her testimony at church that Sunday night.
We traveled to our son Carl’s church for Thanksgiving. I preached Wednesday night, and Gerri played a duet with Carl on her bells, which she enjoys doing on the rare occasions that they are together for a service. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal on Thursday with about 30 missionaries.
We returned on Friday and are now preparing for all of the activities of the Christmas season. We thank you all for your prayers and support and wish a wonderful and Christ-centered Christmas and New Year.
