Since our last letter, we have been traveling to many churches in Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Ohio. Not only have we been able to present our work, but this summer we’ve also been a part of three different Vacation Bible Schools! We praise the Lord for the souls saved and for each person we were able to meet while traveling. One of the amazing benefits of deputation is the people we meet and the prayer support that is raised. Even in just the last several weeks, we have met so many new friends who are now praying for us and Peru.
We are very thankful for our time with Pastor Doug Monroe and Pilgrim Baptist Church in Wautoma, Wisconsin. We had a great time, and they were a huge blessing to us. We left from there for North Carolina, where we got to spend a few days with Zion Hill Baptist Church. I was honored to be able to preach, and we sang and helped all week with their VBS. They were so good to us, and we are very grateful for churches like theirs. We headed to Michigan for a brief trip, where we stopped at two churches, but also had some car trouble. God worked everything out in His perfect timing. We are thankful for an amazing supporting church that helped us out during that time.
We next went to Missions University, a week of encouragement and edification for missionaries hosted by our mission board FBMI. This year we heard from veteran missionaries, Mark Holmes and Dave Maskey, as well as many others. The week ended with a special Marriage Retreat just for missionaries. Bro. Bosje and the team at FBMI did a wonderful job. We also got to help out with our home church’s Vacation Bible School before hitting the road again. Cassandra and I both taught, and I was able to give a salvation message. Many children were saved, and Cassandra was able to lead a girl to the Lord.
We went back to North Carolina, where we headed to Tabernacle Baptist Church in Wilson. On Sunday, I was graciously given the opportunity to preach, and we helped all week with their VBS. One of our favorite aspects of this was not only teaching and helping out with the kids but also getting to know so many new friends. They were a huge blessing to us. We praise the Lord for 22 people saved during the week as well. We continued on to Freedom Baptist Church in Lexington, where we got to see Pastor Clyde Akers and the wonderful church there. They were one of the friendliest churches we have been to. That evening we got to go to Woodland Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and meet Pastor Tim Gammons and their church family. They were an amazing church with a heart for missions. Most recently, we left for Bucyrus, Ohio, where we got to see Pastor Larry Oxendine and Whetstone Baptist Church. They were so kind, and we had a great time getting to know them.
This next month will take us to Iowa and South Dakota before coming all the way back to South Carolina and Florida. We have a lot of traveling ahead of us, but God has been so good to give us these opportunities. We also have some openings in our schedule before the end of the year that we are praying to fill. Our prayer is that the Lord would guide us to people who need salvation and also to be a blessing to each person we meet.
In a few weeks, we start a new semester of Bible institute in Peru, where we’re training many servants of Christ to go out and start new churches and preach the Gospel. I get to teach by way of Zoom video call from here in the States. Please pray for our new semester and these students who have a heart for the Lord.
We are about 70% completed with our deputation and getting closer to going to Peru! Would you pray that we raise our support quickly so we can get to the field? We are excited for what the Lord has ahead. We are very thankful for each of you who pray for us.
God bless you all,
Zach and Cassandra Foust
