This has been a busy and fruitful season for us the past few weeks. In eight weeks, we were at four Missions Conferences and one Missions Sunday. We first went to Berean Bible Baptist Church near San Diego, California, where the pastor and his wife both happened to be Filipino. Right after that, we did a Missions Sunday with Hillcrest Baptist Church near Los Angeles, California. For our next meeting, we went to a Missions Conference at Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Washington, Iowa, where we were so blessed to be with nine other missionaries. We then were able to go back home to Kentucky for our sending church’s Missions Conference at Greater Vision Baptist Church in Owensboro. When we finished our Missions Conference in Kentucky, we went back to California for another Missions Conference at Lighthouse Baptist Church near Los Angeles, California. It was a lot driving and traveling, but we were thankful for the meetings, for the new friends that we made, and for everything that God provided for us. Praise the Lord that three of the churches we were in voted to take us on for support!
Before our last Missions Conference, we were able to celebrate Edward’s birthday with some of his cousins in California. Edward is now two years old and quite the handful! He loves his animal toys, but especially his dinosaurs.
Edward’s birthday was a little extra special because we got to see some “cousins” for the last time before they go to Africa as missionaries with their parents. My brother-in-law’s twin brother, Charles Newton, is a missionary to East Africa, and even though there is no family relation between us, in a way, he still feels like family. It is amazing to think that I first met my sister’s husband William and his twin brother Charles when they were visitors at College Days at Hyles-Anderson College back in 2011. I would’ve never known that 10 years later, William would marry my sister and that all three of us would be in the ministry today. I have always made it my goal and prayer that wherever I go, I want to be a friend and a blessing to whomever I meet.
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly,
