We pray that you all are doing well and that you are happy and growing in the Lord. It is always our pleasure to be able to write and to tell you about what is going on over here in Morogoro, Tanzania. God continues to give us wisdom, mercy, and grace as we embark on reaching as many souls as we can with the wonderful truth of the Gospel.
These past few months have been an exciting time at Grace Baptist Church. It has also been months of “firsts” for me and my family. I have never been a senior pastor before, nor has my wife ever been a pastor’s wife. People come to me in different areas, some physical and some spiritual. It is encouraging to know that when I’m faced with these situations, God always provides the answers that are needed. I’m so thankful for the time and teaching that I went through so that now I can be the pastor at Grace Baptist Church.
The spirit of the people has been amazing. We have many new converts diving into the ministry. They are attending soul winning and are becoming so faithful to the services. We are doing a discipleship program to help them learn and grow properly and at a healthy speed. It’s actually offered to anyone who is interested, even if they are a “seasoned” Christian. We have been so blessed.
A few weeks ago, we had a teen night. It started at 5 p.m. and went until 6 a.m. the next day. We had a program laid out, and we were excited to encourage the teenagers. We killed a goat and had a wonderful feast of food that was prepared by the ladies from our church, who stayed up around the clock to cook at different times. The Lord blessed us with 87 people at our house that night. There was volleyball, basketball, some other games, singing, and preaching. It was all worth it, because one young man who was invited to come trusted Christ as his Saviour and has since then been back to church. That morning we still had soul winning, so some people stayed from the night before while others joined us. We had 45 people come out soul winning, with 43 people trusting Christ.
One young man by the name of Emmanual called me. He had received our church tract from someone, which had my cell phone number, so he called me. He explained that he was a really good soccer player, but he just felt like his life was missing something. He asked me if I knew how to help him. Well, I wanted to talk to him in person, so I invited him to come to church and told him we would talk after the service. He came, and he sweetly trusted Christ as his Saviour. Please pray for him to grow and to continue to come.
The sky is the limit on what the Lord can do here in Morogoro. People are looking and are ready to trust Christ. Thank you so much for your support for us, both prayerfully and financially. Pray that God will, in His time, provide land for a permanent place and provide the funds for us to buy our own vehicle to transport people. We are spending quite a bit of money each week for renting transportation. We love you and appreciate you all very much.
