We thank the Lord for the negative COVID tests and the smooth travels back to the States. We are enjoying our time with my family, and we look forward to being with my wife’s family in Minnesota at the end of this month. Please let me give you an update on our ministry here and in Ghana.
Ministry in the States
Thus far, we have been in seven different churches, and we thank God for safety, for His provision, and for the fellowship and partnership with these churches. What a joy it has been to go soul winning with my dad and my son John—three generations out sharing the good news. I was privileged to win a grandmother and her two great-grandsons to Christ (pictured to the right), and John won a 12-year-old to Christ. As I was walking along the country road in front of my parents’ house this morning, an elderly man greeted me. We chatted, and the door opened for me to share the Gospel and pray with him. Our family was able to sing and share the Gospel with a 96-year-old neighbor. Also, after I preached Sunday night, a young man asked me to counsel with him because he was having doubts about his salvation. I believe he was already saved, but I shared with him several Scriptures in which he can find assurance. Last month, I mentioned our college’s need for new desks. We believe it will cost $5,500 to purchase and ship 60 desks to Ghana. I thank God that $3,600 of this has been raised thus far.
Ministry in Ghana
The day we left, we took a taxi to the airport in Kumasi, and John was able to win the driver to Christ. That evening before our flight to the States, we took an Uber; I shared the Gospel with our driver, and I believe he trusted Christ as well. My friend, convert, and fellow staff member, Peter Frimpong, is overseeing my Sunday school class in my absence. Pastor Speer and different staff men will be teaching my class each week until I return to Ghana at the end of August. Mavis Agyemang is running our class ladies’ prayer meeting in my wife’s absence. I appreciate our staff member and Bible college graduate, Brother Stephen Opoku, helping with my Bible college responsibilities during this time.
Requests
Please pray for God to open doors for our family to share the Gospel this next month and a half; we want our lights to shine brightly for Him. Pray with me that God would bless our Sunday school class and our Bible college in our absence. Also, as you may have seen on Facebook, our ministry lost one of its national pastors on Monday, May 24. His name was James Adjabeng. He was only 33. He left behind his wife Patience and two young children; please pray for God to comfort, strengthen, and guide her. Also, pray for the church where Brother James was pastoring. For now, our graduate, Otchere Boachie, will be pastoring this church.
