One of the blessings of being on the mission field for over 23 years is seeing the fruits of our labor. We now have a church full of teenagers who were once our little bus kids. Not only is it a blessing to see them in church, but it is an even greater joy to see them serving in different ways—teaching classes and singing specials. While no teenager is perfect, we definitely see a desire in them to serve the Lord. This truly blesses us as a family in a great way.
Of course, we go out soul winning each week, but three weeks ago, we had an exceptional time going downtown with a big group from the church. Thirty-three of us went downtown and handed out Gospel tracts. We looked for opportunities to sit beside people and talk to them about salvation through Christ. Some of the men also had an opportunity to do some open-air preaching in the plaza. The police came over, and we got a little bit nervous. Thankfully, they didn’t give us any problems and even wanted the packets we were handing out. One of our young ladies even had an opportunity to witness to a Catholic priest. The Lord truly blessed our church during this time.
In our church, we have a big room dedicated to distributing tracts and Bibles to pastors who come through our town. Attached is a picture of Bro. Osiris, one of our missionary brothers working in some towns up in the mountains of Hidalgo, with whom we were able to send many boxes of God’s Word. He has been faithful for many years, and we know that God’s Word will not return void.
OUR PLANS
Over the last few years, the children’s home has continued to grow. We now have the privilege of raising 21 children with the help of some Godly workers here in the home. We recently received new house parents for the boys, and they have truly been a great blessing. We currently have 15 girls and 6 boys. It goes without saying that everybody keeps pretty busy on a regular basis. Our desire is to raise these children in a Godly home with Godly principles. Pray that God will give us wisdom as we strive to give these children a Biblical foundation for the rest of their lives.
OUR PRAYERS
• Please pray for our youth to continue growing in their service for the Lord.
• Pray that our churches would stay bold in sharing the Biblical message of Christ.
• Pray for our missionary, Bro. Osiris, in the mountains of Hidalgo.
• Lastly, pray for wisdom as we raise these children with foundations.
