For the past two years, God has allowed me to take nine trips overseas each year. God has supplied financially through the gifts of churches of like faith that believe in this ministry of missionary evangelism. It has been a privilege to work with these great missionaries and pastors. God has also given me good health, as far as I can tell, so I can continue this ministry. I am so thankful for His grace in this area of physical health. And then God has given me safety as I have traveled abroad, mostly by plane.
Last year, I traveled an estimated 92,559 miles by plane to the 9 countries I visited. I traveled on the roads within those countries another estimated 1,500 miles. I was overseas for about 151 days. This, of course, does not count the meetings I have here in the States nor the time it takes to plan, prepare, and organize these trips. Now you know why I need your prayers. I am thankful God continues to use me to promote missions and to help missionaries and pastors overseas as they do the work of the ministry.
My first trip this year was to Nigeria. I was with Missionary Mark Holmes. We traveled to 2 different cities, where we preached in Soul-Winning and Leadership Conferences. In Ogbomoso, the Faith Baptist Church did an excellent job of preparing and promoting the conference. There were 50 churches represented at the conference. I was able to teach the pastors and preach in the evening services. Below is a picture of the crowd after one of the services.
From Ogbomoso, we traveled to the city of Jos. Zion Independent Baptist Church was the host church, and they, just like Faith Baptist Church, did a great job of preparing and promoting the conference. There were close to 20 churches represented, and I was once again able to teach the pastors and preach in the evening services. In my travels, I try to give out the Gospel. I was able to witness to a fellow traveler while on the plane to our first conference. This young college student was eager to listen to the Gospel and got saved. Back home, I, along with a class worker, was able to visit in the home of one of the men who came to our French International Class. He got saved once he understood the gospel of grace. Praise the Lord!
Please pray for me, as I will be heading to the Philippines April 10-21. I will be preaching in three churches and also at a Youth Camp. It has been years since I preached to a youth group.
Your servant,
Missionary Evangelist James Belisle
