In September, we were so happy to have visitors! Bro. Warren and Jary Lynn Storm, or better said, Grandpa and Grandma came for a 10-day visit. The kids were so happy! We got to show them Kigali, go soul winning, and just have a good ol’ time. Bro. Storm was also so kind to help me fix my truck that was begging for a professional mechanic’s attention. Our church especially enjoyed meeting them and hearing him preach three times.
Then unfortunately while they were here, Caleb started having some medical problems that lasted for two months. He actually passed out at the dinner table one night and later was doubling over in pain. We took him to the hospital, and they said he had a stomach infection. They gave him some medicine that took care of that problem.
He also had a breathing problem, and his hands started severely cramping. Every night for a month, he would wake up in the middle of the night having difficulty breathing. One night I laid him back on the couch to rest, and he completely stopped breathing! I sat him up quickly, and he started breathing again. We put crushed raw garlic in his mouth (even though he could not swallow), and it started relaxing his muscles. In 20 minutes the attack subsided, and we thanked God for His protection.
A blood test showed that his electrolytes were low, so we began giving him a lot of bananas, extra salt, garlic, grapefruit seed extract, yogurt, and anything else good that we could think of. After some weeks, the cramping and breathing problems went away, but then he had another problem of vomiting up a little blood. We took him to the hospital many times for many tests, but the hospital was never able to find a problem. (Note: Caleb does not like having an endoscopy tube stuck down his throat!)
He still has some small problems, but he is so much better now. I am glad we learned a few things about natural medicine because the doctors were totally baffled on this case. Yes, this whole letter seems to be about Caleb, but that is what we spent so much time doing these two months. Thank you for your prayers. I think there were a couple of times he could have died, but God overruled because of people praying for us.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. These 2 months we saw 86 people trust Christ out soul winning, 36 professions, 2 baptized, and 71 saved through the radio.
