We have really seen God work in our lives these past few months. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Not only are these my wife’s life verses, but these verses have been evident these past couple of months. From February to August, we were based in Jacksonville, Florida, as I was able to get a job with my in-laws down there. We were able to visit many churches down in Florida, and we were able to book a few meetings down there. In August, things were not working out with my job situation. With much praying and counseling, we decided to move back to Michigan. My old employer called me the day before we left Florida, and I was able to obtain a job in Michigan straightaway. Little did we know, God had His reasons for moving us. Two weeks after our move, Hurricane Irma hit Florida. If we had stayed, we would have perhaps been in a bad way with all the flooding—God knew. We were able to change the dates for our meetings in Florida for next year with no problem at all.
Though the move was a setback financially, God has enabled us to be with our family here in Michigan and also to be with our home-church family once again. We got involved again straightaway in our church. I am back in the Bus Ministry at Lakecrest Baptist Church, and it has been a blessing to me to see my old bus kids again. It’s also been a blessing to see new faces. One bus kid, Alana, has been so excited about church. On the bus a couple of weeks ago, she asked if I could help her memorize her memory verse; it was Ephesians 2:8-9. I continued to explain to her what that verse meant. I asked her if she knew how to get to Heaven. She said that because she was good, she would go. It’s almost as if God had that verse planned just for her that week. I was able to lead her to the Lord, and she got wonderfully saved.
At the moment, I am still working to save up for a camper/RV, and we hope to be on full-time deputation by fall of 2018. We will still be doing Sunday meetings until then. I have finished designing a brochure that I will be sending out in a few weeks to many churches in the Midwest. Even just this week, I was able to book three meetings for early next year. Thank you for the prayers and support. Please continue to pray for us while we are on deputation!
In Christ,
