We pray that you had a Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season! Our travels took us to nine churches in this time period, ranging from Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Durango, Mexico. While visiting with Beautiful Gate Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas, I met Vincent. He had been thinking lately about what would happen to him if he died. He sweetly trusted Christ as his Saviour before I left. The church has a great Bus Ministry that will be following up on him and his family.
While passing through Alabama, we stopped at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Theodore. They had just had their missions conference a week before, but the Spanish church was having their conference the week we stopped by. Since they did not have a missionary attending, they were happy to see us and welcomed us in. We had a great time and were able to assist with some work at the church.
Irene is originally from Durango, Mexico, and all her family still lives there. Her mother had not been doing very well health-wise, and we were excited to be able to spend some time with her. Irene had been concerned with her mom’s salvation since she did not have a salvation testimony but did claim to be saved. After spending some time with her mom, Irene was able to lead her in trusting Christ for her salvation! She now has a salvation testimony to tell to others. We also found out that one of her new medications was causing her problems. Since stopping that medication, she has started making great improvements.
I was also able to have a much needed-surgery for two hernias while in Durango. It went very well, and my recovery has been going well. It turns out that my sister-in-law’s husband went to school with the doctor we used, and he gave us a great deal. What a blessing! Would you believe that a private hospital room here only costs about $40 a night? God really loves to take care of us!
Thank you for keeping us in your prayers. Please let us know if we can pray for any specific needs you have.
In His service,
Chris and Irene Williams
