Soul Winning
Our main church completed an 8-week soul-winner training program in July. It was such a blessing to have over 50 church members go through the training! One of the new trainees was Alex Acheampong, one of my Sunday school class members. For several weeks, he went soul winning with me but didn’t talk to anyone. One week we met two girls who didn’t understand English, so Alex translated for me as I tried to lead them to Christ. The girls were having a difficult time understanding the Gospel and kept getting distracted. However, a man named Ebenezer was walking by and stopped to listen in on our conversation. We talked to him afterwards and invited him to church. He has been coming to church for a few weeks now, and he trusted Christ and got baptized on July 29! Please pray for Ebenezer to grow and for Alex to become a faithful soul winner.
On July 21, I went soul winning with Pious and James; both of these men are new Sunday school class members who have only been saved for a few months, but they have a zeal to learn how to win souls. We met a man named Gideon, who listened to the Gospel and trusted Christ as his Saviour! He came to church on July 29 and also followed the Lord in baptism. Pious was so excited to see fruit from our soul winning. Pious has since tried preaching the Gospel to people on his own and recently told me he’d led a friend to Christ! Please pray for Pious and James to become faithful soul winners and for Gideon to grow in his Christian life.
We recently completed a soul-winner training program at our church in Barekuma. Five people went through the program and passed! Please pray for Thomas, Cecilia, Charity, Blessing, and Isaac to put into practice what they have learned and that many souls will be saved as a result.
Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference
We are preparing for our 12th Annual Pastors’ and Workers’ Conference, which will be held on August 14–17. Our theme is “Biblical Prayer and Worship.” Our church had a week of prayer and fasting last week to seek for God to accomplish His will through the conference. Please join us in prayer that those who come would be encouraged to keep serving God and challenged to do more for God. Dr. Eddie Lapina and Dr. Dan Siemer from our sending church will be coming to preach and teach at our conference. Pastor Speer will also be preaching and teaching. Please pray for God to use these men and their messages to make a great impact in the lives of those who attend the conference.
