I am writing this letter to you to let you know that Liz and I have survived a full year of deputation. If you are reading this letter, it means that you have survived another year in the Lord’s service as well. Thank you all for your continued prayer and financial support. Thank you for a great year and the blessing that you were to us while we were with you. Allow me to rehearse some of this past month, as well as some incredible totals for the year.
We were able to stay in Georgia and Florida for the entire month, so we enjoyed some warmth in December for a change. We started out in Pensacola, Florida, at a new church plant called Grace Baptist Church. My wife’s uncle is on the pulpit committee; and, upon hearing that we were stopping in, he asked me to present our work and preach. We greatly enjoyed our time there, not only for the family aspect but also for the wonderful people there. Whomever they call to be their pastor is in for a treat. Pray for them as they seek the Lord’s will. The lion’s share of December was spent crisscrossing the Atlanta region of Georgia. We stayed at Happy Acres Missionary Transit Center in Woodstock, Georgia. We were spoiled with a fully furnished apartment for nearly two weeks. From Happy Acres we were able to drive to all of our meetings in Dawsonville, Locust Grove, Canton, and Blairsville, Georgia. There is not enough room on this page to tell you of all the wonderful things that happened, but I will say that we are in love with Georgia hospitality! We ended the month with a wonderful Christmas with family in Pensacola, Florida. We had not seen Liz’s parents for nearly three months, so it was wonderful to catch up with them over the holiday. I presented our ministry and preached our last meeting of the year on December 28 at Cluster Springs Baptist Church in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, with Pastor Joseph Snow. It was our pleasure to encourage a great group of believers to go forward for the Lord into the New Year.
To end this letter, I will tally up our totals for 2014. We drove 17, 461 miles for meetings. I preached 35 times and presented our ministry 50 times. Liz and I were able to see 24 people saved, not counting the other witnessing opportunities and the multiple tracts we passed out in our travels. Support as of this writing is around 25%. While 2014 was a challenging year, it was also was doubly wonderful. We learned many lessons along the way, but one thing is sure—God has been faithful. So maybe surviving is not the best word to describe this past year; thriving under God’s direction and blessing is a better description! Please continue to pray for our support to reach 100%, a full 2015 calendar, even more souls saved, more laborers to be called to serve with us, and our continued growth in the Lord. Let’s pray that we all have another great year. God be with you all till we meet again.
His servant and yours,
Brian Hebert
