Brandon and Ali Heselschwerdt Prayer Letter: Growing in GraceThe month of June came and went so quickly it seems, but we are thankful for what God is continuously doing here at Lighthouse Baptist Church of Kitengela! In June, our church started a Thursday evening prayer service. I was honestly only expecting a few people to show up for our first service, only to find myself humbled by a total of 12 people there! Since then, we find our attendance growing each week, as both children, youth, and adults have been faithfully coming each week!

Sundays keep growing as well, both physically and spiritually, as we have witnessed several new visitors each week and more people coming! Please continue to pray for my wife Ali, as she runs most of the children’s Sunday school class until it is time for me to teach. Then she teaches and oversees the children’s church during the main service time, where she is now averaging 45-50 children! I’m so thankful for her and our children’s help each week and ask that you would pray with me that God would continue to give her the strength she needs each weekend!

We had a blast with the teens this month for their teen activity, which we have one Saturday each month! We were excited to see a few new teens coming to the church join us on Saturday! It was also a blessing to see two new teenagers who have recently started coming to church come to put their trust in Christ alone! Also, on one of our visitation Saturdays, Daniel and I had the privilege to go to another teenager’s home to sit down and share the Gospel with her mother. Praise the Lord, she, too, has come to profess her faith in Christ alone now!

At the closing of the month, we were excited to see 1 adult, 11 teenagers, and our own daughter Esther come forward to follow the Lord in believer’s baptism! It was a very cold morning here in Kenya, but we got through it as they each showed their obedience unto the Lord!

Things to continue to pray for:

1. Please pray for Ali’s health and for an endocrinologist who would truly listen and treat Ali’s thyroid issues.
2. Continue to pray for the registration process of the church and that we can get it registered by October.
3. Pray that we can manage the time to follow up on and witness to the new visitors and for new believers to grow in Christ.
4. Lastly, please pray for our teens, as they are excited about a Teen Conference they are going to in August.

Thank you again; and, as always, none of this would be possible without the Lord and His help through each and every one of you. God bless you as you enjoy your summer!

Brandon and Ali Heselschwerdt Prayer Letter: Growing in GraceMy name is Isabella N. Chemnanda. I am the mother of three children. I was born into an immoral family. I grew up with a father that had two wives.

When I grew up, I wanted to know the Word of God. When I was seventeen years old, I was baptized with a lot of water without knowing what baptism was. At that time, I was wondering how I could teach my children how to live as Christians.

I personally grew up knowing that good deeds will get you to Heaven. Then in the year 2023, I started to study the Bible. That is when I learned and I found out that you can have eternal life—you must believe only in Jesus Christ!

We should try to stay away from evil, for that will cause us not to be near to Jesus, and it will make God angry. Read John 3:36.

Praise the Lord, the ministry is running well! I am busy with soul winning, and one of the praises is that people are getting the Word of God with the proper foundation from our teaching. Last month, we were able to see two people who were drinkers decide to surrender their lives to Jesus. Also, there was a man who was seriously hurt and has a leg problem; he, too, has come to repent and accept Jesus.

The problem we are now facing with the new church plant is that the church has had to meet under a tree every week. Where we were meeting under a blue building has been taken up and put into units; therefore, we are no longer able to use it. Please pray for Oyora Baptist Church, as we desperately need a church building.

Since the Medical Clinic in March, l have seen God doing many things. We are growing spiritually and physically through the preaching of God’s Word and because of the clinic that we had. We have new members, and l am praying that God will strengthen our ministry so that we can fulfill the work of God.

God bless you, and thank you.

Here is a most recent update in our church from what God is doing:
1. The church is continuing with its weekly soul-winning program every Tuesday and Wednesday.
2. I proceed with discipleship classes every Saturday afternoon for two hours.
3. Ever since the Medical Clinic, a total of eight new people have proved their commitment and faithfully joined our church!
4. Our floor is still a problem with dust and rocks; we are in need of a cement floor.
5. I am struggling with the arrangements for buying church seats and a table for the increase in attendance of those coming.
6. Am planning to have leadership training for church leaders during the third week of August.

Thank you!
