I would like to take this prayer letter to highlight the ministry that God has given us in our local public school. Three weeks ago we began our eighth school year at Burnaby Mountain Secondary School. Every Monday during the lunch break, the Truth Be Told Christian Club meets for a time of challenge from the Word of God. To God be the glory, we have seen many trust Christ as Saviour, as well as the strengthening of those who were already Christians. We currently have three teenagers from Anchor Baptist Church who attend the club. I believe this ministry is very important as we strive to equip the next generation of young people with the biblical tools necessary to survive in this day and age.
Just yesterday we had our third club meeting of this new school year. We had an amazing attendance of 32 students! We have had close to 40 different students attend in the first three weeks. The Lord led me to teach from II Corinthians 5:15, which says, “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” My challenge to the young people was that the God Who saved us deserves our living for Him! He deserves our best! I count it a privilege to stand before these young people every Monday.
