My family and I arrived in the Vancouver, British Columbia, area on May 12, 2000. We served in a local church in Surrey, British Columbia, for one year. It was the first Sunday in June of 2001 that the Lord opened the doors to Anchor Baptist Church. This June 12, we will celebrate 15 years of God’s grace and goodness! There have been countless blessings and burdens through the years. Whether it was a blessing or a burden, I have come to realize they are meant to conform me more into the image of Jesus Christ. I am thankful that the Lord is still working on and through me.
In preparation for the 15th anniversary celebration, we are planning to distribute 30,000 invitations. Just this week we ordered 20,000 flyers and 10,000 door hangers. Most of the flyers will be mailed out, and we will be delivering the door hangers. This project will cost close to $4,000. Would you please pray for this project and consider helping with a financial gift? I would also covet your prayers for the services on June 12. We are praying for many first-time visitors and especially visitors who do not know Jesus Christ as Saviour.
Recently a man by the name of Matthew started attending Anchor Baptist. He had been saved but never scripturally baptized. On March 20, I had the privilege of baptizing Matthew. He is continuing to attend church and has been out soul winning several times.
Last week while making a hospital visit, I had the privilege of sharing the Gospel with Aurelio. He has been out of church for a couple years and really had no clear salvation testimony. To God be the glory, Aurelio trusted Jesus Christ as Saviour! Please pray for him, as he is still recovering from double pneumonia.
We are thankful to the Lord for each church that has a part in what the Lord is doing here in the Vancouver area!
