PRAYER LETTERS
LATEST
After finishing our medical appointments earlier this fall and receiving clearance from our doctors to be able to return to full-time duties, our ministry took another detour. On October 25, we arrived in St. Philip, Barbados, to stand in for Missionaries Robert and Rhoda Smith for several months while they are on a medical furlough.
Barbados is divided into eleven sub-regions called parishes. As far as the country’s church affiliation, many of the Barbadians have ties to the Anglican church because of their historical link with England. Because the country’s tourism is their chief moneymaker, there is a tendency here for the people to become more indifferent to the things of the Lord.
Since arriving here, I have not been as aggressive with door-to-door work as I should be able to be later on when the temperatures become somewhat “cooler.” The real feel of the temperatures has consistently been near 100 degrees. Most of our visiting through the week has been calling on church members. While I have had no new episodes of Afib, the heat and humidity do seem to affect us, at times, in a negative way. Sunday and Wednesday night services have been going well, and the people are very helpful and friendly.
Thank you for your support, and thank you for taking the time to read this update. We have been praying and will continue to pray that you will have a blessed holiday season.
Merry Christmas!
Respectfully,
Keith and Theresa Baker
