Thank you so much for your prayers and support! We are so thankful that we were able to travel to Mexico over Christmas and that Irene was able to make sure that her mother was saved. On February 5, just three weeks after we returned, Irene’s mother went to Heaven. We were in San Antonio, Texas, at Beautiful Gate Baptist Church for a missions conference, so Irene was able to take a bus that night to go to the funeral. So many people attended the funeral that they had two services. The Gospel was clearly presented at both!
The pastor and members of Beautiful Gate were extremely gracious to us and assisted with trips to the bus station and hookups for our motor home. They let us park the motor home at the church during our trip to Mexico and during my recovery from surgery. We were able to assist with projects around the church in reparation for their 38th Annual Missions Conference. Over thirty pastors, veteran missionaries, and new missionaries were in attendance! It was a blessing to be a part of it.
The church was trying to revive interest in their soul-winning group for men. I was able to go with them and tell the good news to Richard who trusted Christ as his Saviour. Richard’s wife and her mother had been saved a few weeks earlier, and they were excited to watch him trust Christ as well. Oscar was waiting in a driveway for someone to get home and also trusted Christ as his Saviour.
Praise God for His protection! About fifteen minutes after we had parked after visiting a church, one of our rear tires suddenly exploded! It was a great blessing that it happened after we had parked instead of while we were driving on the freeway. The left rear brake rotor had worn excessively, and a piece of it broke off and cut the tire, causing the eventual blow-out. I was able to replace the brake parts and get back on the road.
Thank you for your prayers!
In His service,
Chris and Irene Williams
