We spoke to our son John at Hyles-Anderson College earlier today. He was saying that they have a “snow day” today. We are praying for those of you who are enduring the cold and icy conditions—but I was thinking we could use a “snow day” here sometime! (Pray for John, as he is the new bus captain of Route 55-1 in Chicago!)
Bible Club
Earlier this month, Joy led a 5-day Bible Club near our church. She was assisted by her cousin Josiah and her friends—Freda, Julianna, and Lindsey. Faith and Ben accompanied her as well. They had a great week, with 64 different children in attendance and 19 children saved. We praise the Lord for using these young folks to share His Word with others! Here are a few pictures from the Bible Club:
During the week, two girls named Blessing and Julia attended the club. They had only recently started attending our church. Joy took the opportunity to win them to Christ. Both Blessing and Julia followed the Lord in baptism at our church last evening. God has great plans for these young people!
Families Reached by a Bible Club
Mr. Alexander Gardiner was reached with the Gospel because of a Bible Club held last year near his home. He saw ladies from our church rounding up neighborhood kids and conducting a Bible Club. He was impressed! He asked them, “Is this just for the kids, or do you have something for adults as well?” Jennifer Kusi, a lady in our Sunday school class, was one of those Bible Club workers. She shared the Gospel with him, and he trusted Christ. Mrs. Kusi asked me to have someone follow up with him, which I did. Soon Mr. Gardiner started attending our church and brought his two teenage children as well. Both of them trusted Christ and were baptized.
Mr. Gardiner has much zeal for the Lord. He invited us to his house to witness to his mother-in-law, Mary Amankwah, and to a lady named Ma Abena. I was able to win Ma Abena to Christ, but Mrs. Amankwah kept putting us off. For about a month, she kept telling us, “Let’s make it next week!” But finally, a few weeks ago, she allowed one of our soul winners the time to share the Gospel with her, and she trusted Christ! Mr. Gardiner comes soul winning with us just about every Saturday now. Recently, he helped me win to Christ a man named Nana Agyei. Also, Alexander invited a lady named Anita to church, and she started attending with her children. Anita joined the church this past Sunday.
Future Missionary Impacted by Bible Clubs
I thank God for all of the Bible stories, memory verses, and songs I learned as I attended the Good News Clubs conducted by my mom! Please pray for those mentioned in this letter to grow in grace.
Thank you for believing in us!
