Dan and Deb Rothwell Prayer Letter: End of YearHafa Adai from the beautiful island of Guam.
“. . . the star . . . went before them . . . till it came and stood over where the young child was.” (Matthew 2:9) To be a light that leads others to Christ is my pervading desire.

The Lord used me personally to lead 63 people to Christ for October to December 2025. For the year 2025, the Lord used me personally to lead 255 people to Christ.
It was October 31, and I was being helped at a customer-service desk by a lady named Miss Rose when I asked her if she were to die on Halloween, would she go to Heaven. She was so startled by the question, she was speechless. She allowed me to explain the Gospel, acknowledging she understood and believed it, and then prayed with me to receive the Lord Jesus Christ into her heart as her personal Saviour. When we finished praying, she was different, from being speechless to happy, thanking me for talking to her.

A couple walking for exercise crossed my path. I got their attention and introduced myself, giving the man a fist bump. I asked them if they knew they would go to Heaven, and both said that they would. Thinking I had just met a Christian couple, I asked them when they were saved. The husband, in a defensive tone, said, “I don’t need anybody to save me.” It was then that I realized that they were “religious” but not saved. Instead of trying to convince them that they did indeed need Someone to save them, I simply explained the Gospel by asking questions, pausing for them to fill in correct answers, and asking if they understood and believed it, which they said they did. When I asked if we might pray together for them to receive Christ into their hearts, they both said yes. When we finished praying, the woman, who was aloof when we first met, stepped closer and sincerely thanked me, saying that they needed that, and the man insisted we shake hands. They had an amazing change of disposition. When it happens like that, I think of the verse that says, “This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” (Psalm 118:23)

The Lord continues to bless Island Baptist Church. A blessing was to end the year with the faithful folks with which we started. Others have visited, but our faithful folks remained faithful, and the Lord greatly blessed them for it spiritually, physically (health), and monetarily. “A faithful man shall abound with blessings . . . .” (Proverbs 28:20)

The year 2025 began with a mountaintop experience, the Lord having provided a great victory. Then in the middle of the year came two of the deepest valleys I can remember. The Lord gradually lifted us from the valleys to close the year in an upward trend. It just goes to prove the adage: just keep walking.

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me . . . .” (Psalm 138:7)

Thank you for praying and supporting us. May the Lord continue to bless you greatly for it. Please continue to pray for our health and safety, Island Baptist Church, Guam, and Micronesia.

In His harvest field,
