We have been back in Brazil for six weeks, and our four-month furlough already seems like a faded memory. We just returned from our Brazilian Mission’s Annual Conference. The mission has 17 Brazilian missionaries, who serve in various parts of Brazil and foreign countries. I am on the board of directors, and our son Bryan is the director, so we had the bonus of seeing him and his wife Rebekah. The meeting was held in Limeira. We worked there for 17 years and left 20 years ago. It was a great blessing to see many of the members we knew still faithful, and many children and teenagers from our time there are now married with children of their own—all still faithful.
Next week starts our Leadership Conference, with Pastor Wilkerson and Bro. Eddie Lapina from our home church speaking. Bro. Lapina’s wife Jamie will speak to the ladies in two split sessions. There are 130 delegates signed up. Pray for safety in travels and for open hearts to receive what God has for each one.
Then shortly after on August 10, the first service of the new church plant in nearby Caçapava will be held. Pastor Diego, a graduate of our Bible institute, will be the pastor. He has already found a house and moved, and we recently rented the building for the church. A group from our home church will be going there to distribute flyers and do whatever else is necessary to get ready. Pray with us for all of the preparations to go smoothly, for a good turnout, and for people to be saved. There will be special services each of the remaining Sundays of the month. On the last week, Gerri will be doing a chalk drawing.
Then in September, our son Allen, with Wings Bearing Precious Seed, will bring a group to prepare for the 10th Anniversary of the main church. The container that he sent with John and Romans booklets has already arrived, ready for distribution. Pray for many visitors and many to be saved.
We have one final prayer request. Pray that the money which was raised for property on which to build our own building will be transferred to Brazilian currency into the church account here. There is a lot of red tape because of fear of money laundering.
In His service,
Dan & Gerri Johnson
