Wes and Cynthia Palla Prayer Letter: A Winter of Hosting GuestsIt has been a busy start to the winter season here, with this past month being full of welcoming several visitors to our area. In our time here in the northeast, I don’t recall such a prolonged period of rain. We have had a very soggy May and June. Regardless, there has been some wonderful things taking place, for which we praise the Lord.

Our Family Month in May was well attended, and we also announced the beginning of our Bible institute, which will begin at the end of July. I was hoping to have 5-7 students sign up, but imagine my surprise when we had over 20 show up for the information meeting. To this point, we have 8 who have already enrolled, and I think we will see another half a dozen or so complete enrollment to be a part of our first semester of classes. Please pray for the Lord to give wisdom, as this will require a significant investment of my weekly schedule.

At the beginning of June, we welcomed a young missionary family on their survey trip. It was a blessing to get to know them a little bit, and it is an answer to prayer to see missionaries coming to serve in the northeast of Brazil. The following week, we welcomed our adopted daughter Natalia for a visit, along with a friend and ministry partner of hers. They conducted a music course for our church people over a week’s time, and it was amazing to see how much progress they made in a week. They also helped out in our street Bible Clubs and evangelistic outreach, which allowed us to see 16 first-time visitors in church during the week they were here. It was a blessing to have the whole family together for a few days after so many years, and their visit was over all too quickly.

The week after they left, we welcomed a group from a supporting church in Maryland, and we thank the Lord for the wonderful time with them. They were an encouragement to us personally and to our people. They had a mind to work, and they were a genuine help while they were here. As a result of some outreach efforts during their time here, we had more visitors in church, with several salvation decisions.

We would appreciate your prayers as we prepare for our next group coming down for a visit in two weeks, as well as prayers for the opening semester of our Bible institute. Our prayer is to see many laborers raised up and trained to go out and plant churches all across the northeast of Brazil.

We love you, and we are so grateful for your prayers and support.

Declaring His glory,

Wesley Palla
