This year started with a case of kidney stones that took three procedures and almost a month to take care of, but we are thankful for health throughout the rest of the year to continue serving the Lord here in Taubate.
At the end of October, the church had a Couples’ Retreat, with fellow missionary, Charles Nichols, speaking. It was a blessing to us and to our people. Then we hosted Pastor Rodgers and family from the States, who were here for a conference in our church.
The Lord has allowed us to minister to several churches through Family Conferences. After our church’s conference, we traveled to Limeira, where we had worked over 20 years ago, to preach a Family Conference. It was a blessing to see people we had ministered to so long ago still faithful in church.
We returned home on a Thursday morning and left that evening for Mexico to present another Family Conference, with help in translating from our oldest son Allen, who was also present. It was a blessing to see the love and faithfulness of the people in the church.
We celebrated Thanksgiving at home with the members of the Brazil Team, and Gerri helped prepare another Thanksgiving meal the following Saturday for our young people and also the young people of Missionary Keith Putnam’s church in nearby Pinda.
Now it is December, and we are in a neighboring state for another Family Conference at Bro. Nichol’s church. We return home on Monday and will jump right into all the Christmas activities. The month will end with two of our seminary students graduating on the 28th.
It has been a long time since we have been able to visit any supporting churches and also try to raise a little more support, so we have a furlough planned from February to May of 2025. We will be based out of the Hammond, Indiana, area. If any supporting churches would like us to come by and give an update, please contact us at dan2brazil@yahoo.com.br.
May the Lord give each of you a blessed Christmas and New Year’s season. We thank you for your faithful prayers and support.
In His service,
Dan & Gerri Johnson
